ITINERARY AT A GLANCE

 Day 1.- From Cusco to Wayllabamba 

The adventure of a lifetime begins! Explore traditional villages and well-preserved archeological sites while enjoying the amazing Andean landscapes. Hike an ancient Inca path and discover Machu Picchu from a different perspective.  

 Day 2.- From Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo

An incredible day full of adrenaline awaits! Continue hiking and exploring the incredible landscape and reach the famous Warmiwañusca pass, enjoy the scenery and challenge yourself by descending the Pacamayo ravine. 

 Day 3.- From Pacaymayo to Phuyupatamarca

The Inca village of the clouds awaits! Today the hike continues through the ancient Inca path while exploring ancient archaeological sites. The greenery will turn more abundant, find native flora like endemic orchids on the road.  

 Day 4.- From Phuyupatamarca to Machu Picchu! 

The great day has finally come! Hike through the famous Inti Punku -the sun gate- and reach the amazing Machu Picchu citadel. Explore the most famous Inca site with a professional guide and discover one of the wonders of the world from a different perspective.

 THE TRAIL Built by the powerful Inca civilization around 1450, the trail required the use of
rocks that were transported from nearby quarries and delicately carved to fit in precision and meticulousl

 NATURE The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu passes through a wide range of microclimates as a result of varying altitudes. Along this trail, travelers hike from high altitude to the high brow of the rainforest.

 ANCIENT INCA SITES   The trail takes hikers along valleys, and through mountain passes, and also grants access to the archaeological sites of Patallacta/Llactapata, Runkurakay, Sayacmarca, Phuyupatamarca, Inti Pata, Winay Wayna, and the famous Inti Punku. The Inca Trail leads directly to Machu Picchu and offers an adventure of a lifetime.

 HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE The Inca trail to Machu Picchu holds great significance as it is the only hiking trail that grants access to Machu Picchu. After hiking for three days along valleys and through mountain passes, all hikers reach Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate – an important building of Machu Picchu that is not included on the main entrances of the Inca citadel.

 Day 1.- From Cusco to Wayllabamba

Your journey into the magnificent world of the Incas begins today. After breakfast or a packed breakfast, you will be transported to Piscacucho also known as Km 82 by private transportation and train, from Piscacucho the journey begins!

During the hike, you will enjoy views of traditional architecture, flora, and fauna along the way. After a stop at Tarayoc (2675 m / 8776.3 ft) for lunch, your final destination for this day is Wayllabamba where you will be set up in a luxury campsite. Here, you can enjoy a hot shower, a relaxing massage with essential oils to relax your legs, and a delicious dinner served by your personal cook and waiter. Finally, get a good night's sleep in your comfortable tent bedroom.

 Day 2.- From Wayllabamba to Pacaymayo

Get ready for an incredible and electrifying day ahead! Buckle up for an intense adventure filled with breathtaking scenery and a rush of adrenaline. Your hard work will all be worth it in the end, trust us!

Wake up and start your day with a delicious breakfast! Today, we embark on a journey to the enchanting Ayapata ravine (3328 m / 10918.7 ft., 1.5 hours). Get ready to be transported to a fairytale-like forest that will leave you in awe. Take your time to wander, catch your breath, and snap some unforgettable memories.

After a well-deserved lunch break at the Llulluchapampa campsite (3760 m / 12335.9 ft.), it's time to keep exploring. Get ready for the highlight of the day - the Warmiwañusca Pass (Dead Woman's Pass). Admire the stunning scenery and be amazed by the cobbled steps that lead to the final descent to Pacaymayo Ravine (3500 m / 11482.9 ft.).

End the day in ultimate luxury with a hot shower, rejuvenating massages, a mouth-watering dinner, and a peaceful night's sleep. Get ready to recharge and take on tomorrow's adventures!

 Day 3.- From Pacaymayo to Phuyupatamarca

Let's continue hiking through ancient Inca paths while exploring well-preserved Inca complexes. Get ready for an exhilarating adventure as you navigate through breathtaking routes, ascend to new heights, and conquer steep descents.s

Unleash your inner peace and escape to the stunning Andes mountains for a rejuvenating yoga experience. Recharge your body and mind with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a breathtaking 1-hour hike to the historic Runkurakay archaeological site.

As you climb over the Runkurakay Pass (3955 m / 12975.7 ft.), the impressive scenery of a seaweed-covered lake will take your breath away. Discover the mysteries of the ancient Inca town of Sayacmarca (3585 m / 11761.8 ft.) and Chaquicocha (3535 m / 11597.8 ft.) as you indulge in a gourmet lunch that will tantalize your taste buds.

After lunch, embark on a 2.5-hour hike to the Phuyupatamarca Pass (3640 m / 11942.3 ft.), where our comfortable campsite awaits. Unwind with a hot shower, rejuvenating massages, and a sumptuous dinner. Raise a toast to the hardworking porters, who are an integral part of the dream-crafting team.  Day 4.- From Phuyupatamarca to Machu Picchu! 

Today's the day! Your reward for all the hard work and hiking is finally here. Get ready for an awe-inspiring adventure as you witness one of the world's greatest wonders - the magnificent Machu Picchu Inca Citadel!

Rise and shine, as you follow the sun to your final destination. Explore the stunning Wiñaywayna archaeological site (2650 m. / 8694.2 ft.), then ascend to the sacred Sun Gate, or Inti Punku (2750 m. / 9022.2 ft.), where you'll have your first glimpse of the breathtaking Machu Picchu Citadel (2430 m. / 7972.4 ft.).

With a knowledgeable guide by your side, you'll unlock the secrets of this ancient citadel. Roam and discover its mysteries at your own pace. End your visit on a high note, savoring a delicious lunch at the luxurious Belmond Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Then, hop on the bus back to Aguas Calientes and catch the train back to Cusco, cherishing memories of your Machu Picchu adventure forever!

Upon arrival, a Peru & U representative will meet you at the train station and take you to your hotel in Cusco
